New Website and Logo!

Hello to all my friends and family!

I truly hope your 2022 has been off to an energizing start!  Mine has been filled with new opportunities, hard training, and moments I will cherish.  This year, like many previous ones, has shown me just how encouraging and enthusiastic your support has been for me.  I wanted to express my gratitude and extend a sincere thank you to y’all; it is a wonderful thing to know that I have so many people behind me.

Right before the beginning of the new year, I decided to take advantage of the new freedoms the NCAA has allowed student-athletes in terms of monetizing their name, image, and likeness.  It was like the floodgates of opportunity had opened up and I had no idea where to start.

That being said, I wanted y’all to be the first to hear about my new athletic partnership with the CG Sports agency!  They are taking me under their wing and providing me with amazing resources and expertise to help me grow my brand as an athlete and also as a person.

With their help, I am launching my own website: olivcarter.com, which you can check out here!  This is the best place to find updates on what’s going on in my world and subscribe to my newsletter.  I will be using the newsletters to give updates on the meets I am competing in and other fun things I am doing at the moment.

As many of you know, swimming has taken center stage for the majority of my life and has given me countless opportunities to reflect on how it has shaped my character, work ethic, and lifestyle.  Growing up, you could find me goofing off with my friends at practice and not caring about the work.  It took one tough coach who helped me realize my potential before I took swimming seriously.  He carved away at my nonchalant attitude and uncovered a fierce, fiery competitor.

Thanks to that coach and several others after him, I maintained my passionate drive for racing and smashed barriers I had only dreamed of.  Throughout this time, I have learned how to deal with negativity, overcome doubt and challenge myself.  My successes, however, have not come without intense periods of frustration and lack of motivation.  Ultimately, I believe I am the swimmer (and person) I am now because of the lows, not the highs.  The lows challenge me, and the highs keep me going.

I also do a lot of other cool stuff with my life!  You can find me geeking out over aviation stuff or flying small planes in my spare time.  Or, some days, I like to spend time with my beloved Subaru WRX, adding modifications (go fast parts) or fixing things (yes, it happens…) and, occasionally, taking it for a spin on the race-track.

You could definitely say I like going fast.

Quick take on my logo: I have often been told that I lead a unique and multi-faceted life, dipping my toes in many different types of activities apart from swimming like aviation and automobiles. When I assessed for myself all of my different interests, I wanted to highlight features of them that I thought represented my strongest passions and the areas where I find my greatest drive. For me, there is nothing better than going fast, whether that’s in the water, in my car, or in an airplane. My logo, then, compiles these passions into a cohesive symbol which, in a clean and concise way, transcends the individual interests alone to represent me: Olivia Carter.

Cheers to a successful and blessed 2022.
